Alex Dvorak is an award-winning multicultural writer, director, and journalist published in The Washington Post, HuffPost, Business Insider, POPSUGAR, and more. She was recently profiled in People Magazine, detailing her rise from high-fashion runway model to writer of the hit indie short film BAD SURVIVOR. Alex wrote, directed, and starred in BAD SURVIVOR, inspired by her first 24 hours in cancer remission as a teenager, which celebrated its LA premiere at Slamdance Film Festival and was in contention for the 2026 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. Alex is a Captain Programmer for Slamdance Film Festival. She is also the author of an upcoming YA graphic novel soon to be announced and she is signed to Inkwell Literary Agency. As the daughter of immigrants from clashing cultures, a teen cancer survivor, and a runway model, Alex writes stories of teen rebellion based on real-life experiences with authenticity, dark humor, and heart.
